Dorris A. Weber, 67 of Whiting, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 23, 2017 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Bernie; loving mother of Susan, David and the late Brian Weber; cherished grandmother of Clara Ann Orona; dear sister of Charles (Lisa) Zalapukis; proud aunt of Michael Zalapukis; sister-in-law of James (Barbara) Weber; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 3:00 to 8:00pm at Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting. The St. John Rosary Society, together with members of the parish will offer prayers at 4:30pm. The Knights of Columbus, Pope John XXIII Council 1696 will offer prayers at 5:30pm.

Funeral Services will be held at Baran Funeral Home on Thursday, September 28 at 10:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S., officiating. Burial will be on Saturday September 30, 2017 at Holy Cross Cemetery, Gillespie, Illinois.

Dorris Weber was born on December 19, 1949 in Litchfield, Illinois to Charles and Mary Clara Zalapukis and was a graduate of Gillespie High School, Class of 1968. She was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, where she served on the parish council and was a member of the St. John Rosary Society. She was a member of the former Whiting K of C Wives Club. Dorris was devoted to her family and was a phenomenal cook and baker. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. John School Endowment Fund would be appreciated.
