Timothy J. Plawecki

Timothy J. Plawecki, 68 of Whiting, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. He was the beloved husband of the late Janet P. (Valocik) Plawecki who passed away September 29, 2017. Cherished uncle of Eric and Harley Plawecki; dear son-in-law of Alice Comstock; brother-in-law of John (Jane) Valocik and Jill  (Tom) Smith. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Ted Plawecki.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 6;30pm at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting with the Rev. Eric Kleinschmidt  of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Highland, officiating. Visitation at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00pm to time of services. Tim Plawecki was born on August 5, 1955 to Joseph and Wanda Plawecki. He was a lifelong resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Highland and was a retiree of the BP Whiting Business Unit with over 30 years of service. Tim enjoyed camping and his feline companions. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Whiting “Gimme Shelter” (for pets) P.O. Box 591, Whiting, IN 46394, would be appreciated.
