Jerry L. Kershner

Jerry L. Kershner, 68 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Mary (nee Ruskowsky); loving father of Brandi (Mark) Wohland and Katlin (Nathan) Fuller; adoring grandpa of Raelyn and Cheyenne Wohland and Henry Thomas Fuller; cherished son of Frances Woods and the late Charles Kershner; dearest brother of Regina (late Denny) Harbaugh, Rose Wible, Jeff (Cindy) Kershner and Jay Kershner; dear brother-in-law of Eileen (Robert) Hric, Carrie (late John) Kohan and Ann (late Rich) Romero; many nieces and nephews.

Jerry Kershner was born on August 26, 1955 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania and was a longtime resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community. He was a retiree of the Dart Container Corporation, University Park, Illinois with over 20 years of service and was a former employee of Globe Building Materials, Whiting.  Jerry enjoyed feeding the birds, watching professional wrestling on TV and take the occasional trip to the casino. Devoted to his family, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
