Helen M. Kulasak (nee Tomera) 89 of Whiting, passed away, Tuesday, July 11, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Kulasak, daughter, Denise Powell and her brothers, Stanley and Joseph Tomera.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Sharon (Dave) Shebish; loving grandmother of Jaime Lynn (John) Hagerman, Sarah Elizabeth Shebish and Rebecca Kulasak; adoring great grandma of Charlie, Nora and Jack Hagerman; cherished aunt of Paula (Henry) Timko and dearest great aunt of Debra and David Timko.
Helen was born on September 26, 1927 to Martin and Victoria Tomera. She was a lifelong resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting. After attending George Rogers Clark High School, Helen worked at the Pepsi-Cola bottling plant in East Chicago and later, the custodial staff at the Calumet College of St. Joseph, Hammond. Helen enjoyed roller skating and celebrating her Polish Heritage. As per Helen’s wishes, there will be no visitation; a Memorial Mass will be offered in the near future.
