Helen Conjalka (nee Nowak), 98 of Whiting, passed away peacefully at her residence on Christmas Morning, Monday, December 25, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley Conjalka who passed away in 1994; loving mother of Dr. Michael (Jennifer) Conjalka and the late James Conjalka; cherished grandmother of Katherine and Kevin Conjalka; dearest sister of Fritz Nowak and the late Loretta Ratajack, Adeline Conjalka, Stella Hill, Katherine Oberc and Stanley Nowak; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Church, Whiting with the Rev. Stanley J. Dominik, officiating; interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City; visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00am to time of services.

 Helen Conjalka was born on July 1, 1919 in East Chicago, Indiana to Walter and Agnes Nowak and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Whiting and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital would be appreciated
