Gregory S. Workman, 54 of Whiting, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at the St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Center, Hammond. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Ellie (nee Dobrowski); loving brother of Rick (Sallie) Workman, PJ (Deneen) Workman and the late Pamela Wieneke; dearest son-in-law of Arlene (late Donald) Dobrowski; dear brother-in-law of Gary Wieneke and Joe Dobrowski; nieces and nephews, cherished canine companion, “Charlie” and feline companion, “Gray”.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017, 9:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at St. Adalbert Church, Whiting with the Rev. Mark R. Peres, C.PP.S., officiating; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00pm; parish wake service at the funeral home on Thursday at 4:30pm.

Greg Workman was born on November 24, 1962 to the late Palmer and Charlotte Workman in Branchland, West Virginia and was a resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community for the past 12 years. He was a licensed electrician and was a former employee of Arrow Uniforms, Hammond. He enjoyed playing chess and softball. A devoted husband, Greg will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Whiting “Gimme Shelter” (for pets) would be appreciated.
