Beverly A. Zubeck (nee Santay) 80 of Whiting, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Richard; loving mother of Linda (Dave) Zehner, Stacey Sevald, David (Sherry) Zubeck, Michael (Briana) Zubeck, Ricky Zubeck, Amy (Phil) Holst and Jennifer (Dave) McNeely; cherished grandmother of Michele, Brittany, Paige, Stone, Paris, Reese, Amelia, Tessa, Emma, Bailey, Hayden, Connor and Erin; dearest sister of Damian (Barbara) Santay and Sandra Santay; dear sister-in-law of Raymond (Janel) Zubeck and Paul (late Lorraine) Krueger; proud aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2018, 9:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. Stanley J. Dominik, officiating; entombment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond; visitation at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00pm.
Beverly Zubeck was born on February 5, 1938 to John and Margaret (Erickson) Santay. She was a lifelong resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community and was a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1955. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Whiting, the Beta Sigma Phi Social Sorority for over 60 years and the Whiting Emblem Club. Beverly loved to sing and had participated in the Adult Choirs of St. John and Sacred Heart Churches and with the Whiting Park Festival Orchestra Chorus. She was a retiree of the Carson, Pirie & Scott Department Store in Woodmar with over 20 years of service. She loved to cook, read and watch the Game Show Network. Above all, her love of family and spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest joy. Her door was always open to welcome anyone that wanted to stop by and say hi. She greatly enjoyed the holidays with her family and friends. A devoted wife, mother and grandma, Beverly will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
