Annie M. “Kris” Stalony (nee Krizanek) 92 of Lansing, IL, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at the Community Hospital, Munster. She was the beloved wife of the late John Stalony who passed away July 11, 2000; loving mother of Kathy Stalony of Lansing; cherished aunt of Joy Armstrong, John (Lydia) Krizanek, Perry Krizanek, Arthur Pramuk and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Krizanek and sister, Martha Edwards.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 7:00pm at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119^th St., Whiting, with the Rev. Stephen Muth of St. Mary’s Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting, officiating; cremation to follow; visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00pm to time of services; interment of cremains at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois at a later date.

Annie M. “Kris”  Stalony was born on October 27, 1925 to John and Anna (Stefchek) Krizanek and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. She was a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Assoc., BR. 452. “Kris” worked in retail for many years and was the store manager of the Spiegel Catalog Store and a jewelry clerk at Service Merchandise. She loved playing the Lottery and visiting the casinos. A devoted wife and mother, Kris will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorials to St. Mary’s Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting, would be appreciated.
