Ann E. Buck (nee Ballon) 90 of East Chicago, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Munster Med-Inn. She  is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Phillip; loving mother of Phillip (Donna) of St. John, IN, Patty (Ken) Macak of Munster, George (Denyse) of Highland and Frank (Jackie) of St. John; cherished grandmother of  Michael and Bryan Buck, Christy (Jared) Moon Tim (Angela) Macak, George (fiancée, Melissa) Buck, Amanda (Chris) Williams, Marc (Holly) Buck, Helene Buck, Stephanie (Adam) Kurtz and Amy (Nathan) Whitaker; adoring great grandma of Ethan, Preston, Oriana, Marc, Lillie, Olive and Presley; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 9:15am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am at St. Stanislaus Church, East Chicago with the Rev. Jon Plavcan, officiating; interment, St. John Cemetery, Hammond; visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 to 8:00pm. Parish wake service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:00pm.

Ann Buck was  born on July 19. 1926 in Whiting, Indiana to Charles and Veronica (Dvorscak) Ballon and was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region. She was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1944. Ann was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, East Chicago, the St. Stanislaus Altar and Rosary Society and the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Assoc., BR. 81. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. Ann found great joy in cooking for her family. A loving wife mother and grandmother, Ann will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her
